EGAT assured the public that small earthquakes which striked Kanchanaburi Province and Mae Hong Son Province early this month did not have an impact on EGAT’s dams, asking people not to be worried.

          EGAT confirmed that the earthquakes hitting Mueang District in Kanchanaburi Province, 51.8 kilometers far from Srinagarind Dam on January 10, 2016 at 12.11 pm measuring 2.3 magnitude and Mae Sariang District in Mae Hong Son on January 6, 2016 at 4.28 am measuring 3.5 magnitude did not have an impact on any of EGAT’s dams including Srinagarind Dam, Bhumibol Dam, Mae Chang Dam and Sirikit Dam. The earthquake monitoring tools at the dams showed that these earthquakes had no effect on dams’ safety. EGAT asked people to believe and be fully confident about EGAT’s dam monitoring process.
