         EGAT showcased 4 inventions and researches in the Thailand Research Expo 2018 under the concept “Innovate power solutions for a better life” at Central World in Bangkok.




         On August 9, 2018, Mr. Patana Sangsriroujana, EGAT’s Deputy Governor - Policy and Planning, with Dr. Jiraporn Sirikum, EGAT’s Director of Research and Development Administration Division, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suthee Aksornkit, an expert in electrical engineering, communications technology, telecommunication, and air technology, as EGAT’s consultant led EGAT researchers and inventors to participate in the exhibition of inventions and researches in the Thailand Research Expo 2018 held by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the concept “Research to develop the country for security, prosperity, and sustainability.” Air Chief Marshal Prajin Jantong, Deputy Prime Minister chaired the special discussion “Drive research and innovation, drive economy and society in Thailand 4.0,” and Prof. Dr. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Secretary - General of the National Research Council of Thailand reported the objective on floor 22-23 of Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World in Bangkok.



         EGAT’s exhibition under the concept “Innovate power solutions for a better life” which is in accordance with the expo’s main approach showcased 4 innovations comprising

         1) The invention of the Insulator Cleaning Robot without Supply Cut (Main Bus Support) by EGAT’s Southern Region Operation Division which received a gold medal at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva held in Geneva, Switzerland

         2) The invention of the Power System Oscillation Solution with Frequency Injection PSS Tuning for EGAT’s power system by EGAT’s Electrical Maintenance Division which also received a gold medal and a special prize from China at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

         3) The research of the Automatic Welding Robot System for power plant phase 2 parts by the Thailand National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC)

         4) The research on modified electric cars separated into phase 1; EV1 from 2010-2016 which includes the Electric Cars Prototype from Used Cars Project by MTEC and phase 2; EV2 from 2017-2020 which includes the Modified Electric Cars Assembly Set and Modification Manual Project by Thailand’s National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency.



         The Thailand Research Expo 2018 on August 9-13, 2018, from 9 am - 6 pm was held in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej who was the Father of Thai Research, and to honor His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. The purpose of the expo was to show the power of creating researches with quality and potential for the development of the country, and to widely drive the benefits of knowledge, products, technologies, and innovations. During the event, there were over a hundred meetings/seminars and hundreds of exhibitions from research network agencies. The expo was graced by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who chaired the opening ceremony on August 10, 2018. Moreover, EGAT will receive a trophy from NRCT for showcasing inventions and researches at the expo on August 13, 2018.
