          EGAT proceeds to support Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA) in order to prepare and improve athletes’ potential for the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

          Mr. Kornrasit Pakchotanon, EGAT Governor said that with the realization that TAWA has a lot of potential athletes, EGAT has been sponsoring TAWA for more than 14 years, since 2004. TAWA has been achieving a lot of awards from Athens Games 2004, Beijing Games 2008, London Games 2012 and Rio Games 2016, with 5 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals in total.

          EGAT Governor also said that EGAT is honored and feels appreciated to be a sponsor for TAWA and will increase sponsoring budget from 16 million baht a year to 20 million baht a year. For 4 years of supporting between 2017 and 2020, a total of 80 million baht will be provided to train and prepare the athletes for the upcoming Olympics Games in Tokyo, Japan.

          Mrs. Busaba Yodbangtoey, President of TAWA said that all of the accomplishments directly come from EGAT’s supports, both in terms of staff and money. TAWA will continue to improve athletes’ performance to achieve victory, bringing pride and joy to Thailand.
