EGAT informed that the electricity generation and transmission in the Western Thailand on April 13, 2015, which was the fourth day of natural gas disruption for maintenance from Yadana and Sotika gas fields in Myanmar from April 10-27, 2015, remained normal. The system could support the country’s peak demand on April 13, 2015 which was 17,459.0 MW at 20.41 hours (the peak record of 27,056.8 MW occurred on April 7, 2015 at 14.28 hours). All power plants could operate without any disruption.

The electricity demand was lower during Songkran Festival and would increase steadily at the end of April until the beginning of May, when the yearly peak demand would normally occur. The cooperation to save energy from 1.00 pm. – 3.00 pm. and 6.30 pm. – 8.30 pm. was needed to maintain the power system security and sufficiently meet the people’s power demand.
