  • TheBoardofDirectorsformulatesEGAT’svision,strategies,policiesandkeyinitiatives takingintoaccountriskfactorsandprovidingguidelinesforproperriskandbusiness managementandprocessesincludingeffectiveinternalcontrolsystemtoensurethe reliabilityandaccuracyofEGAT’saccountingsystems,financialreportsandaccounting audits.
  • Encouragingexecutivesandemployeestoperformtheirdutieswithdedicationand responsibility.

  • Promotingaccurate,adequateandtimelydisclosureofEGAT’sfinancialandnon-financial informationandensurefairandequitableaccesstosuchinformationforallstakeholders andrelatedparties.
  • TheBoardofDirectorsandmanagementshallbetherolemodelforethicalconduct.
  • Dischargingone’sdutieswithfullresponsibilityandcommitmentandwithcleardivisionof rolesandresponsibilitiesbetweentheBoardChairmanandEGATGovernor.
  • Establishingappropriate,fairandtransparentsystemsandprocessesforthenomination and/orselectionofalllevelsofkeymanagerialpositions.

    EGATvaluesitsemployeesasthemostimportantresourcesvitalfortheorganization’ssustainablegrowthandsuccess.ItsHRmanagementhasemphasizedcontinualdevelopmentofbothEGATpeopleandHRsystemstoefficientlydriveEGAT’smissionandgoal.HRpolicyhasbeenstatedbyEGATGovernortoprovidearticulatedpolicyandguidelinesforallunitstoensureefficientandconsistentHRmanagementandpracticeorganization-wide.EGATHRPolicyisasfollows:

    Promoteallindividualemployeestobedecent,honestandthoughtfulandbehaveinawaythatearnsthetrustandrespectofallstakeholders. Valuetheworkpracticeofhighethicalstandardsandtransparency,givingduecareforenvironmentandhavingthenationalandpublicinterestatheart. EGATEnvironmentalPolicyStatement

   EGATasastateenterpriseundertheMinistryofEnergyhasbeenentrustedwiththemissionofpowersystemplanninganddevelopment,generationandtransmission,aswellasdemandsidemanagementtoensureadequateandhighqualityelectricityservicetosupportthecountry’seconomicandsocialdevelopment.Witharesolutedeterminationtopursuingsustainablepowerdevelopmentwhilealsosteppingupitsleadingroleinenergyandenvironmentalconservation,EGAThassetoutitsEnvironmentalPolicywhichservesasguidelinesforEGAT’soveralloperationsasfollows:

  • Allunitsmustactandoperateinstrictcompliancewithallapplicableenvironmentallaws, rules,regulations,andregulatorystandards.
  • Opttoutilizecleantechnologyforpowerdevelopmenttoensuretheenvironmentally-safeandfriendlyoperationofEGAT’spowerplantsincommunitieswheretheyoperate.
  • AllpowerstationsofEGATareencouragedtocontinuouslyimplementandmaintainthestandardizedenvironmentalmanagementsystem.
  • EGATenhancesandsupportstheimplementationofdemandsidemanagementprogramandcleandevelopmentmechanism(CDM)projectstoreduceelectricitydemandandconsumption,hencethereductionsofgreenhousegasemissionsinefforttoaddresstheglobal warmingproblem.
  • EGATenhancesgreaterawarenessonenergyandnaturalresourceconservationaswellasenergyefficiencywithintheorganizationandinsocietyatlarge.
  • ThisEGATEnvironmentalPolicyappliestoallEGATemployeesaswellasrelatedpartieswhoareexpectedtoconformstrictlyandalsomakeknownpublicly.

CSRPolicy

   EGAT’scorporatesocialresponsibilityorCSRpolicyhasbeenrevisedandupdatedineffortstomakeitmorerelevanttotheprinciplesandpracticesrelatingtosocialresponsibilityintheInternationalStandardISO26000-GuidanceonSocialResponsibility.EGAT’sCSRpolicywasestablishedwithaimsat:

    Promotingthepracticesofin-processCSRalongEGAT’scorebusinessprocesseswithafocusonthegenerationandtransmissionofelectricitywithgoodquality,reliability,andatreasonableprices,andtheconductofefficientenvironmentaloperationsandmanagement, Conductingtheorganizationalmanagementbasedongoodcorporategovernance,goodmoralandethicalresponsibilities,andwithrespectforandresponsetotheinterestsofstakeholdersinallsectors,whileplacingemphasisontheefficiencyandsustainablegrowthofcoreandrelatedbusinesses, Givingimportancetotherespectofhumanrights,laborpractices,andfairoperatingpractices, Beingacaringorganizationforsocietyandcommunities,particularlythecommunitieslivingaroundexistingpowerplantsandfacilities,andinareastobedevelopedasnewpowerplants’sites,andtheadoptionofapproachesfocusingontheinterests,needsandexpectationsofcommunitymembers, BuildinganetworkofCSRpartnershipbetweenEGATandpublicandprivateagencies,aimingatcontributingtothecountry’ssustainabledevelopment, EstablishingacorporatecultureonCSRwhichcanactuallyputintopracticestopromotethevolunteerspiritsamongemployeesorganization-wide,and PromotingtheconductofCSRmanagementpracticesacrossEGAT’scommandlines,forthebenefitsofthesocietyatlarge.
