Generating Capacity
         Chana Power Plant is a combined cycle power plant with high efficiency. It comprises two generating blocks with the total generating capacity of 1,476 MW.

         As a significant economic, commercial and investment center of the southern part of Thailand, Songkhla Province has the highest electricity demand. To support the stability of the electricity system in the South of which the economic and industrial growth has a tendency to continue, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand had proposed a project to construct a new power plant in the Power Development Plan 2004.
         The construction of Chana Power Plant Block 1 was approved by the Cabinet in June 2005 and started commercial operation in 2008, and to comply with PDP 2007 revision 2 (B.E. 2551-2564), Chana Power Plant Block 2 was approved in February 2011 and started supply the power to the system in 2014. On November 9, 2015, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn performed the opening ceremony of the power plant.

EGAT Learning Center
         EGAT Learning center at Chana Power Plant is the knowledge center on energy and power generation. The exhibition aims to create the exciting and memorable experience for the visitors. The knowledge gained can be applied in the daily life, while the energy-saving awareness will be raised.
