EGAT in the collaboration with Bang Kruai Municipality held EGAT Green Running, EGAT Mini Marathon 18th, which was open for runners around the country. The event aimed to encourage exercising habit and offer academic scholarships to the youth. In this year, all of the entry fee would be donated to the 75 scholarships accounting for 150,000 baht for the poor students who had good grades.

On September 7, 2014, Mr. Piboon Buacham, Deputy Governor-Administration said that EGAT Mini Marathon was held for 18 years, and in this year EGAT would like to promote the global warming reduction by naming the theme “EGAT Green Running”. With the reuse purpose, the campaigning activities in the event included the use of towels displaying the runners’ numbers. The food containers were also made from natural materials like banana leaves to contain brown rice with omelette, while paper cup was used rather than plastic cup. Cloth bags were also given to the runners instead of plastic bags. It was the second year that EGAT cooperated with Bang Kruai Municipality to hold the event at EGAT head office, Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province.

The Deputy Governor further stated that EGAT also offered the scholarships for the underprivileged students, who achieved good grades, from the schools surrounding EGAT head offices. The registration fee of each runner that was 200 baht was donated to the 75 scholarships accounting for 150,000 baht in total (one scholarship was worth 2000 baht).
