Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Navanakorn Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. (NNGE) joined the celebration ceremony of operation and maintenance service agreement for NNEG power plant (Expansion Phase) ensuring power system security and serving electric power demand of Nava Nakorn industrial zone.

On September 3, 2020, Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Deputy Governor - Power Business presided over the celebration ceremony of the agreement between EGAT and NNEG on operation and maintenance service for NNEG power plant (Expansion Phase). Held at VIP Meeting Room, Floor 18th, T.103 Building, EGAT Headquarters, the celebration ceremony was attended by Mr. Amornpun Leelaporn, EGAT Assistant Governor - Operation and Maintenance Business, Air Chief Marshal Dr. Nopporn Chandawanich, NNEG’s Chairman and EGAT and NNEG executives.

EGAT Deputy Governor - Power Business said that the operation and maintenance service agreement marks another achievement of cooperation between EGAT and NNGE. EGAT has focused on providing power plant - related services to private power producers with the same standard as EGAT power plants because EGAT realizes the importance of electric power generated from both domestic and cross-border power projects. Besides, EGAT would like to express an appreciation to NNGE who keeps entrusting the task of taking care of its power plant to EGAT.

NNEG’s Chairman said that the NNGE is a small power producer with the power plant situated in an area of 43 rai in Nava Nakorn industrial zone, Pathum Thani Province. The NNGE power plant started its commercial operation on June 3, 2016. Due to an increasing growth of industries in the Nava Nakorn industrial zone, the power generation is required to be expanded to serve the power demand. The expansion phase of the power plant has been constructed since September 2018, of which the progress is almost done. With the success of the previous operation and maintenance service provided by EGAT, the company therefore entrusts EGAT with the operation and maintenance service for the expansion phase.

EGAT and NNGE entered into the first contract for operation and maintenance service on December 28, 2015, with a 5-year term period from 2015 – 2024. Later, the NNGE has constructed the expansion project with the commercial operation date in October 2020, and EGAT is assigned by NNGE to provide the operation and maintenance service for 4 years and 2 months from February 7, 2020 - May 31, 2024.
