          In response to the national policy on COVID-19 spreading prevention, EGAT announces the temporary closure of its leaning centers nationwide and ceases power plant visit activities until April 30, 2020. It also launches preventive measures for all internal sectors to prevent the spread of the virus.

         Mr. Charan Khumngeon, EGAT Assistant Governor - Sustainability Management and EGAT Deputy Spokesperson, stated that EGAT strictly follows hygiene measures, spread preventive measures and the guidance of Ministry of Public Health. To prevent possible spread of COVID-19, six learning centers of EGAT around the country are closed, namely EGAT Learning Center - EGAT Headquarters, Nonthaburi Province; EGAT Learning Center - Rachanurak, Srinagarind Dam, Kanchanaburi Province; Mae Moh Mine Museum in Honor of King Prajadhipok, Lampang Province; EGAT Learning Center - Chana, Songkhla Province; EGAT Learning Center - Thap Sakae, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province; and EGAT Learning Center - Lam Takong, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The power plant visit activities for the public are temporally ceased until April 30, 2020, as well.

         EGAT Deputy Spokesperson said that recreation areas, such as dam crest, view point, and accommodation at EGAT’s dams countrywide are still normally opening for tourists. EGAT strictly complies with hygiene measures, spread preventive measures and the guidance of Ministry of Public Health. The COVID-19 preventive measures in the workplace were announced on February 26, 2020 and have been applied strictly for all sectors of EGAT. In addition, personnel are required to refrain from or postpone working, site visiting, training, seminar and travelling in COVID-19 high-risk countries. Among these measures; checking temperature, providing alcohol gel and hand sanitizer, cleaning high-touch surfaces in buildings and staff service vehicles are included. Moreover, the personnel returning from high-risk countries are asked to disclose their health conditions for social responsibility.

         “EGAT keep monitoring the outbreak situation of COVID-19 with strict preventive measures in order that it will not affect our operation and power security of the country,” EGAT Deputy Spokesperson finally concluded.
