Mr. Prasert Intub, Assistant Governor – Renewable Power Plant of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) said that because of the latest wave of COVID-19 spread, EGAT dams and learning centers need to be temporarily closed to the public visit. For other services and tourist attractions, namely dam crest, viewpoints, golf course, exercise area, and guest houses, they are closed from April 16-30, 2021. However, Srinagarind Dam will be closed since April 19, 2021, while Rajjaprabha Dam still welcomes tourists in line with the provincial administrator’s policy. For restaurants in the dam, they will serve only those who make reservation in advance and do not come from COVID-19 red zones.

EGAT has strictly followed the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 preventive measures. For example, at the tourist information counter, there are temperature scans, while hand sanitizer gel and QR code scanning points of “Thai Chana” platform are provided at major places. In the areas where a crowd of tourists visit, disinfectant is used to clean the places regularly the whole day. For those who visit the EGAT sites, they must wear sanitary mask all the time, maintain social distancing, check the body temperature at the serviced areas, and follow the COVID-19 preventive recommendations by the officers.
