          EGAT hosted EGAT Energy Forum 2019 showcasing “Go-Live” 31 innovations to keep abreast of changes in innovations and technologies. It also opened the stage for experience exchange between EGAT and domestic and international power networks to seek international business opportunities.


         On November 12, 2019, Mr. Kulit Sombatsiri, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Energy and Chairman of EGAT Board of Director, presided over the opening ceremony of the EGAT Energy Forum 2019 under the concept of “GO-Live INNOVATION : Innovate Power Solutions for a Better Life,” together with Mr. Samerjai Suksumek, Chairman of Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Mr. Twarath Sutabutr, Inspector General of Ministry of Energy, Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Deputy Governor - Power Business. Over 500 participants from domestic and international Independent Power Producers (IPP), Small Power Producers (SPP) and power networks also joined in the Forum held at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok.


         EGAT Deputy Governor - Power Business said that the EGAT Energy Forum has been held every 2 years in order to promote and exchange knowledge, experience and power innovations among EGAT, IPPs, SPPs and stakeholders in power sector, as EGAT has given importance to innovations for sustainable development contributing to people and the country and the readiness towards the rapid changes in innovations and technologies.


         The features of the Forum include a special keynote on the topic of “Smart City under Energy for All” by Mr. Twarath Sutabutr, Inspector General of Ministry of Energy, and a special lecture on the topic of “Promoting Measures for Energy Innovation Competitiveness” by Mr. Samerjai Suksumek, ERC Chairman. Experts from EGAT and leading power companies, together with interested participants also discussed in the“GO-Live” innovation seminars with 31 topics, including power generation, operation and maintenance, fuel procurement, transmission development and maintenance and renewable energy and related businesses, such as Thailand First FSRU, New Challenge in Hybrid Firm : Hydro-Floating Solar, Modification of Bang Pakong Power Plant to Use Crude Palm Oil as a Fuel, EGAT-Universal Controller (EGAT-UNICON) and Power Plant Repowering Service. Moreover, there were exhibitions displayed with modern techniques.

         The EGAT Energy Forum 2019 also aims to enhance good cooperation and relation between EGAT and domestic and international power networks, confidence in EGAT business operation, international business opportunities, coupled with applying the knowledge from this Forum to develop power innovations for power security of Thailand.
