EGAT in collaboration with TNB hold Joint Operation Committee (JOC) Conference to discuss on problems of international connected transmission lines with the aim to strengthen transmission system and the relationship between the two organizations.

The 46th JOC Conference was hosted by EGAT on January 13-14, 2014 in Chiang Mai. The representatives from EGAT were led by Mr. Srawut Ieamkam, Assistant Director of Power System Control and Operation Division, while Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) team was led by Mr. Gurcharan Singh, Senior Manager-System Operation, Transmission Division.

During the conference, the two organizations reported on their performance, discussed on problems occurring during the last year, consulted on technical issues such as stability function of HVDC system, and shared knowledge and experience on AREVA and Automatic Fault Analysis (AFA). Moreover, coordinators were selected from each side to contact in emergency case. The TNB team also visited Mae Ngat Somboon Chol Hydro Power plant located in Mae Taeng District, Chiangmai Province.

JOC Conference between EGAT and TNB has been held every year. It is the forum for the two companies to share knowledge and problem solution on technical problems. The collaboration helps strengthen the relationship between two organizations together with performance and reliability of transmission systems of the two countries. The next conference will be hosted by Malaysia during the first quarter of the year 2015.
