          Mr. Santichai Osotpavapusit, Senior Executive Vice President, Acting President of EGAT International Company Limited (EGATi) revealed the direction of its business operation that the popular trend of environmental awareness is likely to push ahead with the business investment of EGATi in renewable energy, energy storage and Smart Grid. By adjusting the existing share of power generation, the power generation from renewable energy is expected to increase to at least 10%, 15% and 25% within 3 years, 5 years and after 5 years, respectively.


         “EGATi is also seeking new business opportunities including investment in Nam Ngum 3 Hydropower project in Lao PDR, development of a biomass power plant in Cambodia, Asian Power Grid that will extend the power trade among Thailand, Lao PDR and Myanmar to Malaysia and investment in Smart Grid in remote off-grid islands of Indonesia.” said EGATi Senior Executive Vice President about the interest in other businesses for increasing the growth of EGATi.

         EGAT International Company Limited (EGATi) conducts energy business and other related businesses in international countries. The investment in eco-friendly coal mine with Adaro Indonesia has good performance and returns. In addition, the developments of Nam Ngiep 1 hydropower project in Lao PDR, Quang Tri 1 coal-fired power project using special technologies in Vietnam and Upper Thanlwin hydropower project (Mon Tong) in Myanmar are among the investment of EGATi.
