Ministry of Energy, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and PTT Public Company Limited reached affected areas by storms Podul and Kajiki to donate relief packages to flood victims.

         On September 7, 2019, Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong, Minister of Energy led executives of EGAT and PTT to storm-affected areas to deliver 2,250 sets of relief packages at Wat Sa Bot Temple in Khwao Sub-district, Selaphum District, Roi Et Province to aid and lift spirits of those affected by tropical storms Podul and Kajiki. On September 6, 2019, Mr. Suraporn Danaitangtrakul, Assistant Minister of Energy along with executives of EGAT and PTT also donated 3,250 sets of relief packages to the people in the area of Roi Et Province.


         In the past, EGAT gave aid to people in the area of Ubon Ratchathani, Phitsanulok, Phichit, and Roi Et Provinces by donating 300 packs of water and 1,695 relief packages of consumable supplies.

         In Ubon Ratchathani Province, EGAT gave support and aid to the community downstream of Sirindhorn Dam by donating 300 packs of water to Khong Chiam and Sirindhorn District. EGAT also supported 3 temporary tent houses in Khong Chiam District and the community downstream of Pak Mun Dam. In addition, EGAT donated 300,000 baht and 1,200 relief packages to relieve public disaster.


         In Phitsanulok Province, EGAT’s Northern Region Operation Division went to the affected areas to donate 135 sets of relief packages and water to flood victims. EGAT also donated 360 sets of relief packages to victims in Phichit Province, the area around Phichit substation, and the community near the transmission lines.

         Moreover, on September 17, 2019, Ministry of Energy, EGAT, and EGAT affiliates joined together to donate 10 million baht, through the television special “Unite Thais to Relieve Floods,” to the disaster relief fund of the Office of the Prime Minister. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister, as the guest of honor received the donation at Broadcasting Operations Building, MCOT.

         EGAT wishes to give courage and will continue to support flood victims of storms Podul and Kajiki.
