Wan Kaew Project
EGAT initiated the Wan Kaew Project in 2003 to commemorate the 48th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. In collaboration with partner organizations, including Metta Pracharak Hospital (Wat Rai Khing) and Better Vision Group Company Limited (Hor Wan). The project provides free eye examinations and eyeglasses to underprivileged and vulnerable people with vision problems. It also encourages donations of eyeglasses, lenses, and financial contributions.
The Wan Kaew Project aims to serve as a platform for collaboration between public and private sector organizations in contributing to society, with the goal of improving quality of life and reducing inequalities in access to basic healthcare services, in line with EGAT’s strategic goals for sustainable development.
In 2025, EGAT implemented the Wan Kaew Project as part of the commemorative activities in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness’s 70th Birthday Anniversary on 2 April 2025. A total of 32 mobile service units were deployed to provide free eye examinations and eyeglasses, with 35,000 pairs of eyeglasses provided in total.
