Environmental Management 

EGAT places great importance on the management of natural resources and the environment by establishing environmental management systems in accordance with international standards and strictly complying with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, standards, and requirements. 

In addition, EGAT is committed to progressing toward its Carbon Neutrality goal and its Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions target, transitioning toward a Circular Economy organization, as well as promoting environmental knowledge and awareness among communities and society to encourage participation in environmental protection for its long-term sustainability.

Operational Structure 

EGAT’s Environmental Project Division is responsible for conducting environmental studies and drawing up environmental impact assessment reports for power generation development projects, power transmission system projects, and mining projects. The division also provides recommendations on environmental impact prevention and mitigation measures, as well as environmental quality monitoring measures. 

Its responsibilities further include the development and management of environmental and social action plans, environmental quality monitoring during both the construction and operational phases, coordination of public participation and public hearing processes, promotion of environmental quality, establishment of environmental and energy conservation networks, enhancement of knowledge and support for environmental research, and greenhouse gas management across EGAT to support the country’s greenhouse gas reduction policy, as well as providing environmental quality assessment services, consulting on the establishment of environmental management systems in accordance with international standards (ISO 14001), and developing environmental databases and information system.
