TAT and EGAT invite tourists to enjoy traveling certified by ‘SHA Plus’ and join ‘Travel with EGAT’ campaign

On this occasion, a campaign “Travel with EGAT” has been launched to invite Thai people to visit EGAT dams and power plants nationwide. Those who are interested can join the campaign activities via Line@travelwithegat from November 26 to December 17, 2021.

On November 26, 2021, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) presented the SHA Plus logo awarded to EGAT’s nine dams and one power plant to Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The SHA Plus logo presentation was held online, live via EGAT Facebook Fanpage: Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said that TAT has initiated Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA) to encourage tourism industry entrepreneurs to raise their product and service quality to comply with new normal tourism standards. The original SHA standard was extended to SHA Plus to be awarded to hotels and businesses that meet the SHA standards, and have at least 70% of their staff vaccinated against COVID-19. Presently, 23,500 businesses are certified by SHA, while 5,600 businesses are certified by SHA Plus. The TAT Governor congratulated EGAT for receiving SHA Plus logo and also expressed his thank to EGAT for recognizing the importance of safety and hygiene standards and being a part of building readiness to welcome international tourists.

Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Governor added that paying attention to hygiene and safety of the tourists, especially during COVID-19 pandemic, EGAT has raised quality of accommodations, restaurants, and tourist attractions within the dams and power plants. As a result, ten of them are certified by SHA Plus, namely Bhumibol Dam in Tak, Sirikit Dam in Uttaradit, Vajiralongkorn Dam and Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi, Ubol Ratana Dam in Khon Kaen, Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani, Chulabhorn Dam in Chaiyaphum, Rajjaprabha Dam in Surat Thani, Bang Lang Dam in Yala, and Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant in Nakhon Ratchasima. All Thai people are welcome to visit EGAT dams and power plants which have beautiful view and ambience and provide many interesting activities. Traveling Thailand is also another means to stimulate its economy, and EGAT is ready to support every sector to help recover the country and step forward as stated in the motto “EGAT for All.”


On this occasion, EGAT has launched an economic-growth boosting campaign “Travel with EGAT” to invite Thai travelers to gain new experiences by visiting EGAT nine dams and one power plant. Those who are interested can join the campaign activities via Line@travelwithegat to get many rewards from today until December 17, 2021. The rewards will be announced on December 24, 2021. SHA: Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration is a project coordinated between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Ministry of Health, as well as government and private sectors involved in the tourism industry.
