EGAT wins four SOE Awards 2021, moving towards digital state enterprise

1 February 2022

EGAT won four awards at the Outstanding State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Awards 2021, reflecting its excellent performance and commitment to continual organization development. The received awards comprised Digital State Enterprise Development Award, Outstanding Creativity and Innovation Awards from ‘Renewable Energy Forecast System’ and ‘Transmission Line Height Adjustment without Outage Project,’ and Outstanding Strategic Collaboration for Development from ‘EGAT-NHA No.5 Energy Saving Housing Project.’

On January 31, 2022, Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Governor, together with EGAT executives received the awards from Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Finance, in the SOE Awards 2021 held by the State Enterprise Policy Office, under the concept ‘Moving towards Sustainable New Normal with Thai State Enterprise,’ at the Government House.

Among the four awards received this year includes the Digital State Enterprise Development Award, as EGAT is in the top five ranking of State Enterprise Assessment 2021 (Digital Technology Category). It is a result of EGAT’s determination to move towards digital state enterprise by policy setting, resource management, and digital technology development and deployment in all dimensions.

EGAT also received an Outstanding Creativity and Innovation Award from the “Renewable Energy Forecast System,” a system invented by EGAT to forecast renewable energy generation more accurately. With the repetition of experiments using the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and statistical data of power generation and weather conditions, the model system is reliable, ensures the power system security, and helps avoid the rising cost of power generation in the future.

Another Outstanding Creativity and Innovation Award comes from the project of ‘Transmission line Height Adjustment without Outage.’ The project reduces the limitations of height adjustment of transmission lines and ensures safety for the public and EGAT operatives, without any interruption of power supply.

Moreover, EGAT won the Outstanding Strategic Collaboration for Development from the ‘No.5 Energy Saving Housing Project,’ a cooperation between EGAT and the National Housing Authority (NHA). The Project aims at enhancing economic, social, and environmental development, through the energy-saving and eco-friendly house designing that can reduce energy costs, raise the quality of life, and lower the carbon emissions of the country.
