Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant, tourist destination of “Unseen New Series” showcased in Thailand Tourism Festival 2022
21 February 2022Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant is selected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to be one of the tourist destinations of the “Unseen New Series.” In Thailand Tourism Festival 2022 held during February 18 – 22, 2022, EGAT has showcased a miniature of the power plant’s underground tunnel, north-eastern cultures and lifestyles, power generation exhibition, and local products from its nearby communities.

Mr. Suttipong Chalermkiat, Assistant Governor – Sustainability Management of Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and EGAT Deputy Spokesperson, revealed that EGAT is presenting an exhibition on Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant in the 40th Thailand Tourism Festival 2022, held by Tourism Authority of Thailand, during February 18 – 22, 2022, at Lumpini Park, Bangkok. The Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant, in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, is selected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to be one of the five tourist destinations under the “Unseen New Series” of the north-eastern region. In response to the BCG & Happy Model of the region, the power plant becomes a new tourist attraction with its unique highlights, including the popular viewpoint at the upper reservoir or the “sky town” and the unseen underground tunnel or the “underground town,” which is a power generation site located 1.5 km underground. In the festival, EGAT also features local products from the nearby Khao Yai Thiang village, such as honey, coffee, and Cannabis – honey drinks.
