‘Escape the Heat to Relax at Dams’ with 50% discount on lodgings at EGAT’s 9 dams and one power plant to promote Workation and stimulate Thai economy
31 March 2022EGAT continued to boost the tourism industry by supporting TAT’s ‘Workation Paradise Throughout Thailand’ project and joined the ‘Escape the Heat to Relax at Dams’ campaign by giving 50% discounts on lodgings at EGAT’s nine dams and one power plant. Reservations are open until April 30, 2022.
Mrs. Tawiwan Danwilai, Assistant Governor – Procurement and General Services of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) revealed that EGAT has participated in the Workation Thailand Project since 2020 in order to stimulate the national economy through tourism promotion. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has continued the project for the third year under the theme ‘Workation Paradise Throughout Thailand’ combining work and vacation, because everywhere in Thailand is a paradise for travelers and workers. Meanwhile, EGAT has joined the ‘Escape the Heat to Relax at Dams’ campaign by giving 50% discounts on lodgings at EGAT’s nine dams and one power plant to help change the environment of workplaces, activities, meetings, as well as create a new resting place. The campaign will also stimulate the economy through tourism promotion, create revenue for the community, and restore the tourism industry which was affected by COVID-19.
EGAT’s nine dams and one power plant participating in the project are Bhumibol Dam in Tak Province, Sirikit Dam in Uttaradit Province, Vajiralongkorn Dam and Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi Province, Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Ubol Ratana Dam in Khon Kaen Province, Chulabhorn Dam in Chaiyaphum Province, Rajjaprabha Dam in Surat Thani Province, Bang Lang Dam in Yala Province, and Mae Moh Power Plant in Lampang Province.
