10,000 quotas of ‘Free Air-con Cleaning Service’ to help solve energy crisis: registration to be open on April 18
11 April 2022EGAT and Thai Air Conditioning Traders Association signed MOU on ‘Clean Your Air, Care Your Life Project’ to provide 10,000 quotas of air conditioner cleaning service to Thai people free of charge, aiming to save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The registration will be open on April 18, 2022.

On April 8, 2022, Mr. Suttipong Chalermkiat, Assistant Governor – Sustainability Management of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on ‘Clean Your Air, Care Your Life Project’ between EGAT and Thai Air Conditioning Traders Association (T.A.T.A.), whose signee was Mr. Wirat Sirisanglert, President of T.A.T.A, at Press Conference Room on the 3rd Floor of EGAT 50th Anniversary Building.

Mr. Suttipong Chalermkiat said that ‘Clean Your Air, Care Your Life Project’ is included in EGAT’s campaign ‘Save Energy for ALL’ which is in accordance with the Ministry of Energy’s energy saving campaign. During the time of energy price crisis, maintaining the efficiency of the air conditioner not only improves indoor air quality at home but also saves household expenses. Moreover, it helps conserve energy for the country as cleaning the air conditioner every six months could save the electricity at least 10%.

‘Clean Your Air, Care Your Life Project’ offers 10,000 quotas of free air conditioner cleaning services, which is expected to save energy of 1.3 million units per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions around 620 tons per year. The project also helps extend the functional lifespan of the air conditioner, make a positive impact on people’s health, and stimulate the economic growth and employment worth around 6 million Baht.

This MOU will be valid for a period of nine months. Registration for cleaning the wall-type air conditioner, not more than 24,000 BTU, will be open on EGAT’s official website www.egat.co.th from April 18, 2022 at 9.00 a.m. until 10,000 quotas will be reserved. One household can register for one quota to get one air conditioner cleaned free of charge. T.A.T.A. will assign its members certified by SHOP NO.1 standard to clean the air conditioners for those who successfully registered.
