EGAT showcases “EGAT Green Life” in National Science and Technology Fair 2022

EGAT displays an “EGAT Green Life” exhibition, invites the youth to explore solutions on carbon reduction, and presents the award of EGAT Green Learning Society to support energy and environmental conservation activities under the Green Classroom Project, in the National Science and Technology Fair 2022, held on August 16-21, 2022.

On August 15, 2022, Mr. Sathit Krongsut, Assistant Governor – Research, Innovation and Business Development of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawin Rawiwong, President of the National Science Museum (NSM), join the opening ceremony of EGAT’s exhibition “EGAT Green Life,” held at IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.

Mr. Sathit Krongsut revealed that the National Science and Technology Fair 2022 will create inspiration on science and technology for people of all ages. In this year, EGAT exhibits “EGAT Green Life,” featuring power innovations and energy efficiency to drive the society towards carbon neutrality. EGAT has carried out activities under the Green Classroom Project for over 20 years, coupled with environmental conservation. The visitors can enjoy activities such as Engy Quiz on carbon reduction, 3D aquatic animals and dinosaurs, Esports (ROV), and EGAT Town, to win prizes including nine iPads. The exhibition is held on August 16-21, 2022 at Hall​ 9-10 of IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. For more information, please visit https://gls.egat.co.th/.

On this occasion, the award ceremony of EGAT Green Learning Society is also held, over which Dr. Phuthorn Chanthahong Punyacharatdhamrong, Director, Office of the Educational Innovation Development (Office of the Basic Education Commission), and EGAT Assistant Governor – Research, Innovation and Business Development presided. The ceremony presented the awards to the schools with outstanding activities of energy and environmental conservation under the Green Classroom Project, which are 1) 17 green schools for being a model of energy and environmental conservation, 2) 3 schools for Label-No.5 buildings with high efficiency of energy management, 3) 40 low-carbon schools, 4) 39 low-carbon schools that can expand power reduction activities to student households, 5) 6 schools of EGAT Green Seed Influencer, 6) 15 schools of EGAT Green Talk that develop communication skills and leadership of the youth, and 7) 8 schools of Junior Influencer for Youth Power @ Bang Kruai under EGAT-NSM cooperation to develop energy influencers. In 2021, the school activities and student families of 15,000 households contributed to an energy reduction of 16.8 million GWh, an energy cost saving of 79 million Baht, and a carbon emissions reduction of 8,000 tons, in line with the policy to sustainably move towards a low-carbon society.
