MRTA and EGAT open EleX by EGAT charging station to support traveling connection to MRT Purple Line

Mr. Vithaya Punmongkol, Duputy Governor (Operation) of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), and Mr. Warit Rattanachuen, Assistant Governor – Research, Innovation and Business Development as Project Management Office of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), jointly presided over the opening ceremony of the first “EleX by EGAT” EV charging station at Park and Ride Building, Yaek Nonthaburi 1 Station of MRT Chalong Ratchatham (MRT Purple line). Moreover, the two authorities plan to open the second one at Park and Ride Building, Samyan Station of MRT Chaloem Ratchamongkon Line (MRT Blue line) by March 2023. On this special occasion, EGAT will offer 200 EleXA points to customers charging EV cars at the EleX by EGAT charging station from March 1-31, 2023. The points can be redeemed for special deals via EleXA application. Besides, the customers will receive foldable shopping bags from MRT when paying for parking fee and showing the evidence of EV charging via EleXA application to the staff at the payment cabinet (50 offers only).
The opening of the EV charging station is cooperation between MRTA and EGAT to promote EV deployment, support traveling connection to MRT, as well as reduce pollutant emissions and fossil use in line with the government and Ministry of Transport’s policy of EV deployment promotion by government agencies. For future cooperation, MRTA and EGAT will open the EV charging stations at the park and ride buildings of other MRT stations.
The EleX by EGAT charging station at Park and Ride Building, Yaek Nonthaburi 1 Station of MRT Purple line provides five parking slots, comprising three 7.4 kW charging connectors with AC Normal Charge (inside the parking building) and two 22 kW charging connectors with AC Normal Charge (outside the parking building). For the EV charging station at Park and Ride Building, Samyan Station of MRT Blue line; two parking slots with the two 22 kW connectors of AC Normal Charge will be provided.
