EGAT wins 6 SOE Awards 2022, reflecting its position as an outstanding state enterprise and moving toward national energy development with innovation
27 March 2023EGAT won six prestigious awards at the SOE Awards 2022, reflecting the organization’s continuous development and its determination to build national energy security using eco-friendly energy innovations for Thai people sustainably.
On March 24, 2023, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, chaired the awarding ceremony for the SOE Awards 2022 under the concept “Grow Green Balance” held by the State Enterprise Policy Office. Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and EGAT executives received the awards along with executives of leading state enterprises who joined the ceremony at Santi Maitree Building, Government House, Bangkok.
For the year 2022, EGAT received six awards, including awards from the State Enterprise Assessment Model (SE-AM), namely the Digital State Enterprise Development Award and the Sustainable State Enterprise Development Award.

As for submitted awards, EGAT received the Outstanding Social and Environmental Operation Award for the 45 MW Hydro-Floating Solar Hybrid at Sirindhorn Dam Project in which EGAT installed solar panels on the water surface of Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani Province in order to generate electricity from two hybrid energy sources: solar power and hydropower. The project helps reduce GHG emissions around 47,000 tons per year. EGAT also plans to develop the project at nine EGAT dams totaling 16 projects.

Outstanding Strategic Cooperation for Development Award (Honorary Award) for the cooperation between EGAT and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) under the “Smart Energy Digital Platform Development for Factories in the Industrial and Public Industrial Estate Areas Project” for asset management in IEAT’s model industrial estate area and other areas to help reduce CO2 emissions.

Outstanding Creativity and Innovation Award: Creativity Category (Honorable Mention) for the ERC Sandbox and ENZY Platform Projects which support future electricity generation. It is a smart energy management platform for monitoring and controlling efficient electricity usage via mobile phone notifications or LINE application. EGAT is currently piloting the ENZY Platform in Pinthong Industrial Estate 3, Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Lastly, the Outstanding Creativity and Innovation Award: Innovation Category (Honorable Mention) for the “Decoding of Vibration Signal and Searching for Bearing in Early Damaged Power Plants Project” to help reduce machine damage risk as well as several million baht of maintenance cost per year.
