TRIS Rating reaffirms EGAT at “AAA,” highlighting strong role of power state enterprise
7 July 2025
Mrs. Patcharin Rapeepornpong, Deputy Governor – Finance and Accounting (CFO) of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), revealed the announcement of TRIS Rating Co., Ltd. regarding the review of EGAT’s 2025 credit rating, which was affirmed at the highest rating of “AAA,” with “Stable” outlook. The credit rating reflects EGAT’s position as an important state enterprise with full operational integration with the government and its role in supplying electrical energy for the country through power generation and transmission countrywide, as well as its strong financial status and liquidity.

The corporate credit rating is a risk indicator used in decision-making for investment in EGAT bonds. It also reflects the debt repayment ability and the financial security of the organization. Despite the constantly changing Thai electricity industry, the “AAA” credit rating can affirm EGAT’s strength and credibility among counterparties. EGAT is determined to be a country leader in the power business, ensuring the country’s power security and implementing its operations in line with the national energy policies.
