EGAT, INNOPOWER, KBank, SIRI, and ION join forces to drive decarbonization solutions through REC Registration on GreenPass platform, moving toward Net Zero Emissions

15 December 2025

Sansiri Public Company Limited (SIRI), and Kasikornbank Public Company Limited (KBank), the provider of GreenPass platform, partnered with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), an energy leader and the local issuer of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) under international standards, together with INNOPOWER Company Limited (INNOPOWER) and ION Energy Corporation Limited (ION), to drive clean energy in the public sector, expand opportunities for generating income, and encourage participation in sustainable energy transition from all groups of people.

Creating additional income from rooftop solar via GreenPass

This collaboration will encourage SIRI residents, retail customers, and SME entrepreneurs with rooftop solar installations to generate income through REC registration and trading via GreenPass, driving the country toward the goal of Net Zero Emissions.

SIRI, first REC purchaser

Mr. Anat Kittikulmethi, SIRI Deputy Managing Director of Project Development (Low-rise), said that SIRI is grateful that EGAT and all partners have collaborated to facilitate the REC registration for SIRI residents through the GreenPass Platform. The company plans to purchase RECs from its residents for the first time in Thailand to reduce and offset its greenhouse emissions (Scope 2) and create a “sustainability ecosystem.” Currently, SIRI has installed rooftop solar systems in 3,200 residences, clubhouses, and 112 factories, with a total annual generating capacity of 9.7 million kWh, equivalent to a reduction of 5,826 tCO₂e per year. Also, SIRI and ION offer a special privilege allowing their residents to use income from REC trading as discounts on solar panel cleaning services. For every 200 Baht, the residents can redeem a 500-Baht voucher for solar panel cleaning.

KBANK’s GreenPass adding solar value via RECs

Dr. Karin Boonlertvanich, KBank Executive Vice President, stated that this collaboration marks a vital step in enhancing the country’s clean energy deployment. KBank is determined to concretely support rooftop solar installations of retail customers and SME entrepreneurs while further enhancing value creation. REC registration and trading through the GreenPass platform not only help installers generate additional income but also drive public access to the clean energy market. The program also introduces a new dimension to the country’s REC market by allowing organizations to purchase RECs from small-scale solar installers, thereby reducing or offsetting greenhouse gas emissions from electricity consumption (Scope 2: Indirect Emission). Previously, most RECs were sourced from large power plants or factories. This collaboration will expand opportunities and privileges of clean energy to all sectors in line with KBank’s intention to create sustainable growth for Thai society, moving Thailand toward Net Zero Emissions.

Mr. Warit Rattanachuen, EGAT Deputy Governor – Strategy, said that this cooperation reflects EGAT’s readiness to serve as a national energy leader in driving Thailand toward its goals of Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero Emissions. EGAT is committed to supporting a secure and sustainable energy transition for all sectors. As the local REC issuer under the I-TRACK Foundation, EGAT places importance on transparency, equity, and expansion of economic opportunities related to renewable energy for the public. The REC market mechanism has been developed to become more accessible and efficient. This effort aims to facilitate small-scale solar installers, retail customers, and SME entrepreneurs through REC registration and trading that align with international standards. It also encourages public participation in Thailand’s energy transition. Besides, this cooperation highlights EGAT Group’s readiness to lead in decarbonization solutions by offering comprehensive products and services that support tangible CO2 reduction across all sectors in Thailand. EGAT Group is driving the country toward a low-carbon society while boosting economic growth with security and sustainability.

INNOPOWER and ION ENERGY advancing power ecosystem

Mr. Athip Tantivorawong, INNOPOWER Chief Executive Officer, said that INNOPOWER is pleased to announce this significant achievement in connecting GreenPass to the residential sector, enabling SIRI residents to earn income from REC trading and reduce electricity costs. As EGAT Group’s clean energy innovation driver, INNOPOWER emphasizes advancing national clean energy infrastructure. This collaboration marks an essential step in systematically introducing “residential solar power” into the renewable energy market for the first time. The registration on the GreenPass application integrated with INNOPOWER’s REC Aggregator platform has been designed to make REC registration, certification, and trading easier and more transparent by using a data storage and analysis system in line with the I-TRACK standard (formerly known as I-REC Standard). The system facilitates retail customers to access the REC market more easily compared to the previous complex system. The company believes that clean energy generated by the public will be a crucial force driving the country toward Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero Emissions in the future.

Mr. Peerakarn Manakit, ION Chief Executive Officer, revealed that as SIRI’s clean energy partners, ION serves as the technological service provider and the hub of residential solar data management, responsible for aggregating, verifying, and certifying power generation data before submitting it to GreenPass. Moreover, ION offers a privilege by using income from REC trading as a discount for solar panel cleaning services. This collaboration underscores all sectors’ readiness in fostering a low-carbon society for Thailand while creating a secure and sustainable economic growth.
