World’s largest hydro-floating solar hybrid successfully connects to the grid, ready for commercial operation in October 2021

         On September 13, 2021, Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) chaired the grid synchronization of the 45 MW Hydro-Floating Solar Hybrid Project at Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani Province. Currently, the overall progress of the project is 99.26 percent complete and will be ready for commercial operation in October 2021. EGAT is set to move forward with the next 24 MW project at Ubol Ratana Dam in Khon Kaen Province. The project will continue to expand to many other areas in EGAT dams nationwide with the total generating capacity of 2,725 MW by 2037 in order to promptly promote electricity generation from clean energy and achieve net zero emissions in Thailand.
