EGAT helped build a good environment and air quality for Thais by contributing two million baht to PCD for the procurement of a Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Station in order to monitor air quality more efficiently and reduce air pollution sustainably.

Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) presented two million baht to Mr. Attapol Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Pollution Control Department (PCD) to be used for the procurement of a 2,800-cc Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Station at PCD in order to monitor air quality more efficiently.

Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit said, the Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Station is another important tool that will help monitor air quality efficiently in different areas so that all sectors and the public can be on alert. Moreover, it will help plan measures to manage, reduce, and prevent air pollution, as well as build awareness about the air quality, leading to a change in daily life behavior. The information can also be used to organize activities for preventing and reducing air pollution sustainably, help achieve the EGAT Carbon Neutrality goal, and solve the PM2.5 issue at the national policy level for the maximum benefit of the people and the country.

Mr. Attapol Charoenchansa thanked EGAT for providing the Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Station, which is considered the first fast mobile station of the Environmental Protection Unit at PCD for entering monitoring areas, to monitor air quality, solve complaints, such as chemical incidents and other incidents, and help ease the sufferings of the people who were affected by air pollution. The mobile station increases work efficiency and agility, and can monitor air quality in different areas nationwide, which will help build a good environment, mitigate air pollution, and create good quality of life for the people.

EGAT and PCD declared their intention of “Breathe our Future: Unite for the Future of Air Quality” through managing energy, air quality, and the environment, to solve the PM2.5 issue so that Thais can have better quality of life. The Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Station will be an important tool for monitoring air pollution and notifying the public about the situation efficiently.
