Demand Side Management
EGAT has implemented Demand Side Management for over 30 years to reduce the electricity demand and CO2 emissions by promoting the use of high-efficiency electrical equipment, energy efficiency, and a positive attitude toward behavioral change in electricity use with the 3Es strategy. The initiative’s purpose is to manage the country’s electricity demand and decrease energy costs, greenhouse gas emissions from electricity generation, and environmental impacts, leading to the concrete target of Carbon Neutrality.
EGAT promotes the production, import, and distribution of high-efficiency electrical equipment, develops energy criteria for No.5 energy-saving labeling, and conducts proactive marketing to promote the use of high-efficiency electrical equipment among electricity users.
No.5 Energy-saving Student Uniform: On the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary, EGAT donated 73,155 No.5 energy-saving student uniforms to 217 schools under the patronage of the Crown Prince, Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage, and schools under the Royal Education Fund Project.No.5 Energy-saving Student Uniform: On the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary, EGAT donated 73,155 No.5 energy-saving student uniforms to 217 schools under the patronage of the Crown Prince, Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage, and schools under the Royal Education Fund Project.In 2024, No.5 energy-saving labels were applied to 26 products. The number of No.5 energy-saving labels affixed on products was 24,339,648. This helped reduce peak electricity demand by 388.14 MW. The reduced electricity consumption was 2,427 GWh. The CO2 emissions of 1,265 tCO2 were reduced. The cumulative CO2 emissions reduction from 2021-2024 was 3,472 tCO2. The products under the No.5 energy-saving labeling were added, and the scope of labeling was widened to include distribution transformers, solar panels, LED street lamps, and grid-connected solar cell inverters.
- Save the World and Save Energy with New No.5 Label-affixed Refrigerator: The activity is implemented under the CIF Fund to promote the use of No.5 label-affixed refrigerators, which use eco-friendly natural refrigerants, with 12 department stores to provide 5,555 discounts to the public, amounting to 10 million Baht.

EGAT offers a consultancy on the promotion of energy efficiency measures, including the selection of construction materials and high-efficiency electrical equipment for housing and buildings of the governmental, industrial, business, and housing sectors.
Energy Consultant
In 2024, EGAT provided consultancy to support the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Resources Standard (EERS) for power producers and sellers, which requires more involvement of energy producers and sellers in the promotion of energy efficiency. It is one of the main compulsory measures in the Energy Efficiency Plan (EEP). In 2024, EGAT provided consultancy on increasing energy efficiency, measuring and verifying energy use, and preparing reports for public and private entrepreneurs. The consultancy could reduce electricity of 5.997 GWh and CO2 emissions by 11.48 tCO2.
No.5 Energy-Efficient Labeling for Housing and Buildings
EGAT, in cooperation with allies and entrepreneurs in the public and private sectors, promoted the design and construction of energy-efficient housing and buildings in compliance with the energy efficiency criteria. In 2024, the project had 51 housing and building designs, which contributed to energy saving of 12.04 million units and CO2 emissions reduction of 6.28 tCO2.
EGAT has implemented the EGAT Green Learning Room Project since 1998. At present, 1,312 primary and secondary schools countrywide have participated in the project. Each year, over one million students have participated in energy and environmental activities from which they can apply the knowledge in their daily lives and transfer the knowledge to their parents and society.
Energy and Environmental Innovation Contest
The purpose of the contest was to promote the development of skills and creativity of the youth in energy innovation development, waste management, and agriculture in order to reduce energy use and CO2 emissions. The winning teams were eligible to be included in a special admission quota to 11 universities. Moreover, there were projects of eight teams that could be put into practice and two projects submitted for petty patent registration.
EGAT Young Influencer
EGAT, in cooperation with the National Science Museum Thailand (NSM) and Tellscore Co., Ltd., promoted and developed the potential of the youth in EGAT’s Green Learning Room Project to become communicators and young leaders who can elaborate stories concerning the importance of energy, energy conservation, and the environment. The activity was joined by 227 students and teachers.
ENZY Platform
Under its “EGAT Smart Energy Solution” business, EGAT has developed the ENZY Platform, a smart energy management platform for the business and industry sectors to promote maximum energy efficiency.
The ENZY platform connects the electricity systems of various machinery in buildings and factories. The users can monitor all the information and control the different equipment smoothly, such as turning the equipment on and off. Moreover, an AI system helps analyze and recommend the energy-saving model as well as notify the user when the energy usage exceeds the target, helping to control and reduce energy expenses. The platform allows users to control devices, machinery, and electrical appliances remotely. Additionally, the system sends alerts to users via the LINE application if electricity usage exceeds preset targets.
The ENZY Platform offers a comprehensive end-to-end energy management solution for both industrial facilities and residential or commercial buildings. At present, it is implemented in industrial estates, factories, universities, etc., enabling users to manage and control electricity usage efficiently and helping reduce unnecessary energy costs by up to 30%.
