Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office closes EGAT vaccination center after COVID-19 eases and servicing over 200,000 persons

Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office closed the vaccination center at EGAT’s Kamthon Sindhvanada Sports Center in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province and returned the location to EGAT after servicing the people of Nonthaburi and nearby areas totaling over 200,000 persons for eight months.

Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office along with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) held a ceremony for the closing of the vaccination center at EGAT’s Kamthon Sindhvanada Sports Center in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province and returned the location to EGAT. The ceremony was joined by Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Governor; Dr. Rungruthai Muanprasitporn, Chief Doctor of Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office; and EGAT executives, volunteers, and staff on May 18, 2022 at EGAT’s Kamthon Sindhvanada Sports Center in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province.

Dr. Sariddet Charoenchai, Deputy Doctor of Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office gave a summary report on the vaccination center at Kamthon Sindhvanada Sports Center. The vaccination center was open for service 42 times from September 27, 2021 – May 18, 2022 with a total of 360 medical personnel servicing around 200,000 persons. The Center had excellent management, including a system that could register and check authorization simultaneously to help reduce the service time, as well as good queue management, and received praise from the people due to the convenient and fast service. It was also the first multiple vaccination center that provided different types of vaccine to help reduce the wait times and the spread of COVID-19.

Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Governor said that to ease the COVID-19 situation, EGAT has given full support with medical equipment, sanitizer gel, and funds for public health agencies to help control and prevent the spread of COVID-19. When EGAT was contacted to be a vaccination center, EGAT received cooperation from various agencies in Nonthaburi, including EGAT staff with information, human resources, and medical skills as well as EGAT volunteers. EGAT provided fast and convenient vaccination for as many people as possible to create population immunity in Thailand. EGAT is pleased to support all sectors during the crisis in line with the concept ‘EGAT for All.’

Dr. Rungruthai Muanprasitporn thanked EGAT executives for the vaccination location and equipment, as well as thanked the volunteers from EGAT and all public health agencies that helped operate the vaccination center for all target groups.
