EGAT, in cooperation with Royal Thai Air Force, has opened “EleX by EGAT” charging stations for the first time in Royal Thai Air Force areas, aiming to continuously support the EV transition of governmental organizations and drive Thailand toward Carbon Neutrality.

On February 8, 2023, Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Royal Thai Air Force, and Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), together with executives of both organizations joined the opening ceremony of EleX by EGAT charging stations located in Royal Thai Air Force areas. The ceremony was held at Royal Thai Air Force Headquarters, Don Mueang, Bangkok.

Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul revealed that the Royal Thai Air Force realizes the importance of the increased deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) and tries to encourage its officers and families to use EVs. The Deputy Commander-in-Chief was grateful that EGAT opened the EV charging stations in Royal Thai Air Force areas with confidence in the security standards and quick charge.

EGAT Governor said that this cooperation is a vital step to constantly expand the installation of EV charging stations in governmental areas. The EleX by EGAT charging stations feature four charging slots with four connectors of 22 kW AC Normal Charge. The EV users can use the charging station via the EleXA application.

EGAT has already opened the EleX by EGAT charging stations in governmental areas which are Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy, Government House, and Royal Thai Air Force—Wang Nantha Utthayan and Phra Ratcha Wang Derm (Thonburi Palace). Presently, EGAT has opened 99 charging stations of EleX by EGAT and EleXA allies across the country and plans to achieve the target of 150 stations by 2023.
