EGAT invites green travelers to tour 16 routes with “Travel Smart, Charge Your Heart”
3 August 2023EGAT invited green tourists to experience 16 pleasant routes at the booth “Travel Smart, Charge Your Heart: Explore Thailand with EGAT” along with a 50% discount on accommodations in order to build confidence; while traveling all routes with EleX by EGAT charging stations at the Thailand Tourism Festival from August 2-6, 2023.

On August 2, 2023, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Miss Thapanee kiatphaibool, Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), visited EGAT’s booth “Travel Smart, Charge Your Heart: Explore Thailand with EGAT” at the 41st Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF 2023). They were welcomed by Mr. Warit Rattanachuen, Assistant Governor – Research, Innovation and Business Development of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) along with “Poppy” Ratchapong Anomakiti, an actor from the drama “Mor Luang,” who shared his experiences in smart traveling at the front of Hall 5, LG Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Mr. Warit Rattanachuen, EGAT Assistant Governor – Research, Innovation and Business Development, revealed that EGAT recognized the importance of tourism as the main gear driving the economy. Therefore, EGAT has developed and improved the landscapes around EGAT dams and power plants, which have beautiful scenery as their strength. It has also created new check-in locations and collaborating with the surrounding community to develop local products and services to become an important tourist attraction of each province. For TTF 2023, EGAT set up a booth under the concept “Travel Smart, Charge Your Heart: Explore Thailand with EGAT” to showcase 16 travel routes throughout EGAT dams, power plants, and learning centers nationwide. The booth is a model of the Karin House, a new check-in spot at Sirindhorn Dam. The house is a modern-style villa surrounded by nature, mountains, and the river. It is also equipped with modern technology and is a model for “Smart Home Smart Energy” for the new generation, entrepreneurs, and tourists to experience.


The 16 recommended travel routes include 10 EGAT dams and power plants nationwide, namely Bhumibol Dam in Tak Province, Sirikit Dam in Uttaradit Province, Vajiralongkorn Dam and Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi Provinces, Ubol Ratana Dam in Khon Kaen Province, Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Chulabhorn Dam in Chaiyaphum Province, Rajjaprabha Dam in Surat Thani Province, Bang Lang Dam in Yala Province, and EGAT Mae Moh in Lampang Province. The other 6 routes are EGAT learning centers relating to the local identity, namely EGAT Learning Center – Headquarters in Nonthaburi Province, EGAT Learning Center – Mae On in Chiang Mai Province, EGAT Learning Center – Lam Takong in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, EGAT Learning Center – Tap Sakae in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, EGAT Learning Center – Chana in Songkhla Province, and EGAT Learning Center – Pha Bong in Mae Hong Son Province. Every route supports EV users with a total of 120 EleX by EGAT charging stations nationwide.




Moreover, for EV users who visit EGAT’s booth, just show car keys or download the EleXA application to receive a 50% discount on accommodations at 10 EGAT dams and power plants.
