Kang Krachan Dam has contributed to the expansion of the irrigable area of Phetchaburi Project from 214,000 rai to be 336,000 rai and provided the area of 174,000 rai for agriculture and planting in the dry season. Moreover, the dam has eliminated the problem of scarcity of water for consumption in the area of Phetchaburi estuary up to Hua Hin and the flood problem in Phetchaburi field. Lastly, the dam has become a fishery promotion center and an important tourism spot of Phetchaburi Province.
