Bidding documents for Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3 now available until September 26, 2025
26 August 2025EGAT is moving forward with the 280 MWac Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3. The bidding documents are officially available for purchase from today until September 26, 2025. Entrepreneurs are invited to participate in driving Thailand’s clean energy development.
Mr. Thidade Eiamsai, Deputy Governor – Power Plant Development and Renewable Energy of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), revealed that the 280 MWac Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3 (SNR-PV3) in Kanchanaburi Province, scheduled to start its commercial operation in 2028, is included in EGAT’s strategic plan for clean energy development. The project will generate electrical power from floating solar panels installed on the dam’s reservoir and share main infrastructure and equipment with the existing hydropower plant, resulting in lower generation cost and reasonable electricity cost. Moreover, eco-friendly materials are used and the solar panels are installed at an appropriate tilt angle that allows sunlight to pass through, thereby not affecting the environment and the aquatic ecosystem.
The Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3 is part of Thailand’s Power Development Plan 2018-2037 Revision 1 (PDP2018 Revision 1) which aims to develop floating solar projects on EGAT’s dam reservoirs nationwide, with a total generating capacity of 2,725 MW by 2037. These projects will increase the share of clean energy, maximize the efficient use of water resources, and support Thailand’s goals of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and Net Zero Emissions by 2065 through support mechanisms for offsetting and avoiding CO2 emissions.
