Mr. Thidade Eiamsai, EGAT Deputy Governor – Power Business, said that EGAT is not only responsible for electricity generation but also for ensuring national power system security and providing uninterrupted electricity supply around the clock. The key to maintaining power security is having a maintenance process that is standardized, precise, and capable of predicting issues in advance. EGAT has applied over five decades of knowledge, experience, and power plant maintenance technologies to further advance its smart maintenance approach by integrating digital technology, data analytics, advanced engineering, and predictive maintenance. These technologies improve maintenance accuracy, reduce unplanned shutdowns, and enhance the efficiency of assets throughout their lifespans. EGAT also applies its 3E Strategy to maintenance operations, namely Excellence: enhancing maintenance capabilities to meet international standards, Expand: building collaborative networks and expanding business opportunities with domestic and international partners, and Explore: developing and applying new innovations and technologies to support the future energy industry.

EGAT also aims to become a strategic maintenance partner, providing engineering, inspection, testing, calibration, damage assessment, maintenance, and maintenance system development services for businesses in the energy and industrial sectors, including power plants, petrochemical plants, and critical national infrastructure.

“EGAT believes that collaboration among the public sector, state enterprises, private sector, and business partners will play a vital role in elevating Thailand’s maintenance standards, strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial sector, and ensuring the nation’s long-term power security.”

The event also featured guided visits to EGAT’s four standard-testing centers: Chemical Testing Center, Metrology and Instrument Calibration Center, Mechanical Testing Center, and Welder Qualification Testing Center. These centers demonstrate EGAT’s capabilities and readiness to deliver comprehensive testing and maintenance services that support national power system security while expanding services to businesses and the industrial sector in a sustainable manner.
