TRIS Rating reaffirms EGAT at “AAA” for 10th consecutive year, highlighting strong role of power state enterprise

TRIS Rating has announced EGAT’s 2026 credit rating, reaffirming it at the highest level of “AAA” for the 10th consecutive year. This reflects EGAT’s strong role as a state-owned power utility and its potential during the clean energy transition.

Mrs. Somchit Dansriprasert, Deputy Governor – Finance and Accounting (CFO) of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), revealed that TRIS Rating Co., Ltd. has announced the review of EGAT’s 2026 credit rating, which was affirmed at the highest rating of “AAA,” with a “Stable” outlook, for the 10th consecutive year. The credit rating reflects EGAT’s position as an important state enterprise with full operational integration with the government, including its role in electricity generation and supply to ensure the security of the nationwide high-voltage transmission system. It also highlights EGAT’s crucial role in modernizing the power grid to support the clean energy transition. Most importantly, it shows EGAT’s strong financial status and liquidity.
