EGAT co-hosts Gastech 2026, highlighting “Bridging the Next Energy Era”

14 September 2026

The Prime Minister opens EGAT exhibition booth under the theme “Bridging the Next Energy Era,” showcasing green energy innovations and low-carbon technologies to drive Thailand toward Net Zero, as EGAT joins knowledge exchange sessions at Gastech 2026 held on September 14–17, 2026, at BITEC Bangna.

On September 14, 2026, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister, presided over the opening of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) exhibition booth under the theme “Bridging the Next Energy Era.” This theme reflects EGAT’s role as an energy bridge from the present to the future, connecting energy security, the energy transition, and future energy technologies to drive Thailand toward a secure, clean, and sustainable energy system. The opening took place at the global energy exhibition, Gastech 2026, held on September 14-17, 2026, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC). The ceremony at the EGAT Booth (B80) was attended by Mr. Akanat Promphan, Minister of Energy; Mr. Napintorn Srisanpang, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office; Mr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy; and Mr. Narin Phoawanich, Governor of EGAT, alongside executives, government and private sector representatives, and energy partners.

The EGAT booth presents its vision through three key dimensions: 1) Bridging Energy Security: Enhancing energy security through the management of natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG), Grid Modernization, and regional electricity interconnection via the ASEAN Power Grid, 2) Bridging Energy Transition: Fostering a balanced transition through the study and development of low-carbon energy technologies, such as hydrogen and biomass, 3) Bridging Sustainable Future: Connecting to a sustainable future through the study of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology, a high-potential clean energy alternative currently garnering global interest. Additionally, the booth features special activities and souvenirs for visitors, including EGAT’s “ENGY” mascot keychains, Khun Saichon beverages, mango sticky rice ice cream, and Thai fruit-flavored macarons (Macaron by Amari), showcasing Thai identity, sustainability, and support for local entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, EGAT is a key co-host of the “Electrification Theatre,” a specialized energy conference serving as a platform to discuss power generation, transmission, distribution systems, and technologies that enhance grid stability and flexibility to meet rising electricity demand. The sessions explore infrastructure development strategies to support the growth of AI and Data Centers, aligning with the challenges and future directions of Thailand’s power system. Throughout the event, EGAT executives will participate in panel discussions with government, private sector, and energy partners on topics such as “How electrification is reshaping Asia’s strategic position” and “Regional grids, cross-border trade, and Grid 2.0.”

Another highlight is the “Thai Local Spirit Night,” designed to foster networking and exchange among attendees. The event will feature Thai-style snacks, beverages from local producers, and live music, projecting Thai charm and identity to global audiences. The event is scheduled for September 15, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm. at the EGAT booth (B80).

As a co-host, EGAT envisions Gastech 2026 as more than just a conference and technology exhibition. It is a collaborative space for connecting knowledge, technology, and partnerships among the government, the industrial sector, and global energy partners to jointly drive the future energy system, ensuring energy security alongside economic growth and sustainability.
