MOE, DEDE, and EGAT held the “Small Savings to Big Power” event to launch new No.5 energy-saving products and website. Plaques of honor were also presented to participating entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of energy conservation at all levels to achieve the Net Zero target.

On September 23, 2026, Mr. Akanat Promphan, Minister of Energy, chaired the “Small Savings to Big Power” event which was also attended by Mr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy (MOE); Ms. Nunthika Thungsupanich, Director-General of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE); and Mr. Narin Phoawanich, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), along with executives, participating entrepreneurs, and distinguished guests at the Auditorium, EGAT 50th Anniversary Building, EGAT Headquarters, Nonthaburi.

Mr. Akanat Promphan, Minister of Energy, stated that MOU has elevated and developed the country’s energy conservation plan with a focus on technological and innovative measures for energy conservation, covering all target groups and fostering engagement from all parties, to achieve the Net Zero target by 2050. The No.5 energy-saving label project and energy efficiency promotion implemented by DEDE and EGAT align with the energy conservation policy. Both organizations have extended the No.5 energy-saving label project to include new products, aiming to encourage widespread changes in electricity consumption behavior. The project has been widely recognized and has become a model for energy conservation at the national, ASEAN, and global levels, while also complying with the government’s policy to reduce the country’s total energy consumption.

Mr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, added that MOU has collaborated with DEDE and EGAT to implement No.5 energy-saving label project, covering electrical appliances and various equipment in households, buildings, and factories to promote energy efficiency across all sectors. Over 33 years until September 2026, 46 energy-saving products have been certified, with a total of 592 million labels issued. Moreover, energy consultancy and energy conservation network have been implemented to reduce energy consumption tangibly in government, business, and industrial sectors totaling 80 agencies. These projects can reduce electricity use by 53,180 million units, heat consumption by 14.2 petajoules, and CO2 emissions by 29.5 million tons.

On this occasion, MOU presented plaques of honor to 19 entrepreneurs participating in No.5 energy-saving label project for 3 products, namely clothes dryers, multi-split type air conditioners, and solid door chest freezers; to 9 entrepreneurs participating in No.5 housing and building project; and to 7 agencies participating in the 2026 energy consultancy project. Moreover, plaques and certificates of appreciation were given to 50 organizations joining the energy conservation network.

Furthermore, five new No.5 energy-saving products for the year 2026 were launched, namely screw air compressors, low-temperature thermal insulation, refrigeration compressors, blast chillers and freezers, and canister vacuum cleaners. A new No.5 energy-saving label website was also introduced to help entrepreneurs access information and register for certification more conveniently. The platform also provides a channel for the public to compare the lifetime costs of No.5 energy-saving products across all star rating levels.
