Bang Pakong Power Plant
Characteristics of the Power Plant
Formerly, Bang Pakong Power Plant consisted of 4 units of thermal power plant and 5 blocks of combined cycle power plant with the contractual capacity of 3,715 MW as follows:
- Thermal power plant, Units 1-2: 550 MW each (Decommissioned)
- Combined cycle power plant, Blocks 1-2: 337.50 MW each (Decommissioned)
- Combined cycle power plant, Blocks 3-4: 314 MW each (Decommissioned)
Presently, Bang Pakong Power Plant has the contractual capacity of 1,862 MW comprising :

Note: In 2018, in accordance with the Cabinet resolution that the Ministry of Energy used 160,000 tons of raw palm oil in electricity generation to reduce the local stock of raw palm oil in the country, EGAT had experimented the use of raw palm oil for electricity generation in Unit 3 of Bang Pakong Power Plant in mid-January 2019 and continued its generation until July 2019.
