Stability and Safety of the Dam
EGAT has available measures to withstand earthquakes ranging from dam design, construction, usage, and maintenance. Inspection and monitoring of safety are consistent with international standards.
EGAT dams have been designed to withstand an earthquake tremor of 0.1 g.
The dam inspection is conducted by the Committee on Dam Inspection and Safety Assessment consisting of experts from EGAT and leading national universities. The dam inspection is based on the top engineering standards of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). It is assured that all EGAT dams are strong and safe.
