Recently, EV users can travel to as far as Chiang Rai Province, the northernmost province of Thailand, which already has an EleX by EGAT charging station.

Mr. Warit Rattanachuen added that EGAT is focusing on services for three main groups comprising 1. People traveling between provinces during the first half of 2022: EGAT will open 17 more stations, mainly on highways and in PT petrol stations, which will enhance travelers to travel from Bangkok to a distance of 700 meters in every direction, and aims to install Super Fast Chargers for EV users traveling to all provinces of Thailand by the end of 2022, as well as develop a Green Charging Station prototype, 2. Customers living in the city: EGAT focuses on accommodating the urban lifestyle by expanding the EV stations to department stores, community malls, golf courses, etc., and 3. Entrepreneurs interested in the commercial charging station business: EGAT aims to widen the variety of the partnership network by accepting hotel, restaurant, golf course, or other businesses that need EV chargers for their customers. Meanwhile, ‘BackEN’ or the EV Charging Network Operator Platform developed by EGAT is available to assist charging station owners. The system is connected to EGAT’s ‘EleXA’ application which helps EV users locate more charging stations and also increases customers. BackEN has a service fee of only 699 baht/month/device. Moreover, EGAT has a Wallbox Charger installation service as an alternative for the entrepreneurs that have not installed their own charging dispensers yet.
