“Mr. Thepparat Theppitak” appointed as 16th EGAT Governor

The Cabinet has passed a resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Thepparat Theppitak as the 16th Governor of EGAT.

On March 3, 2024, the Cabinet approved the appointment of Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, Deputy Governor – Governor’s Office appointed President of EGCO Public Co. Ltd., as the 16th Governor of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT); after the term of the former Governor, Mr. Boonyanit Wongrakmit, had ended since August 21, 2023.

Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, born on July 31, 1965, is currently 58 years old. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chiang Mai University and a master’s degree in Electricity Industry Management and Technology from the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom. He has also undertaken various training programs, including the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, the National Defense Regular Course from Thailand National Defense College, and the Senior Executive Program from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University, the Executive Program in Energy Literacy from Thailand Energy Academy, and the Leadership for Inspiration for Senior Management from King Prajadhipok’s Institute.

In terms of work experience, he was appointed Assistant Governor – Renewable and New Energy from 2017 to 2018 and Deputy Governor – Power Plant Development and Renewable Energy from 2018 to 2020, respectively. Since 2020, he had served as the Deputy Governor – Governor’s Office appointed as EGCO President.
