19th Mae Moh Festival is ready to welcome tourists this Nov. 10-12

Lampang Province, in collaboration with EGAT and TAT, invites tourists to join the 19th Mae Moh Festival with the theme “Happiness in the Air,” embracing the atmosphere of happiness and cool breeze, enjoying the sight of blooming Mexican sunflowers covering an area of 200 rai, and meeting top singers during November 10-12, 2023 at EGAT Mae Moh.

On November 1, 2023 Mr. Chatchawan Chayabutra, Governor of Lampang Province; Ms. Yureephan Sanjaiya, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) – Lampang Office; and Mr. Kasem Mongkolkiattichai, Director of Mae Moh Mine Planning and Management Division of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), joined a press conference to announce the 19th Mae Moh Festival. The festival with the theme “Happiness in the Air” invites the public to explore various species of winter flowers and enjoy entertaining activities at Chalerm Prakiat Recreational Park, EGAT Mae Moh, Lampang Province.

Mr. Chatchawan Chayabutra, Governor of Lampang Province, said that Lampang Province is a city of learning, livability, and sustainability that would like to welcome tourists across the country to visit the Mae Moh Festival which has been held for 19 consecutive years with the cooperation of Lampang Province, TAT, and EGAT. It is one of Lampang Province’s must-visited festivals that the tourists eagerly await to experience the atmosphere of happiness and the cool breeze. The event, which takes place at a large open-pit mine transformed into a beautiful Mexican sunflower field, will help boost economic growth and generate income for the locals and Lampang Province.  

Ms. Yureephan Sanjaiya, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) – Lampang Office, added that EGAT’s Mae Moh Festival is one of the highlights not to be missed when traveling to Lampang Province because of its splendid scenery and fun activities. TAT has taken part in promoting the festival and included it in the Lampang Province’s tourism calendar. Moreover, TAT has promoted other tourist attractions in Mae Moh District and Lampang Province for the tourists to explore more fascinating aspects.

Mr. Kasem Mongkolkiattichai, Director of Mae Moh Mine Planning and Management Division of EGAT, stated that the 19th Mae Moh Festival will be held during November 10-12, 2023 at EGAT Mae Moh, Lampang Province with the theme “Happiness in the Air.” The area of EGAT Mae Moh has been transformed to provide happiness for the visitors of all ages coming to experience beautiful nature and pure air. Highlights of the festival include the fields of Mexican sunflowers and winter flowers, a skywalk with a 360-degree panoramic view, big balloons, and colorful lighting throughout the area. Besides, entertainment activities in the event will include the concert by popular singers and actors. The visitors can fully indulge in the entertainment and happiness throughout the three days. Additionally, there are other activities for the visitors to enjoy, including a slider race, mountain cart race, secret code solving game, stargazing, bird-watching, Mae Moh Dancing Contest 2023, Mae Moh Craft, Coffee & Food Truck 2023, the sale of OTOP products, as well as the exhibitions of Mae Moh Green Area and Leonardite. This festival not only offers fun and relaxing activities but also a chance to learn and enrich experiences.
