On December 8, 2023, Mr. Charan Khumngeon, Deputy Governor – Generation of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), presided over the opening of “Joyful Century of Thai Electricity” on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the Red Cross Fair, held under the theme “Red Cross Fair: Century of Charity.” EGAT store is No. 7.1 in the Energy Zone in the Red Cross Fair 2023, held at Lumpini Park, Bangkok, from December 8-18, 2023. He was also the representative of EGAT to receive a recognition plaque from the Thai Red Cross Society, bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, for winning store organizing award 2023 – state enterprise, independent entity, and public company category.
EGAT Deputy Governor – Generation said that EGAT has been continuously participating in activities of the Thai Red Cross Society to assist the public. For the Red Cross Fair this year, EGAT store is designed using eco-friendly materials. Its front area features the model of EGAT office from over 100 years ago, combined with colonial-style architecture that was introduced to Thailand and gained popularity during the King Rama V reign, coupled with the electric tram model representing the first public transportation system of that era and reflecting the development and prosperity of the electricity industry of the country.
In EGAT store includes the “Century of Thai Electricity” exhibition showcasing the long-standing power operation creating light; power security; social, economic, and environmental values; and quality of life improvement for over 100 years through information boards and cutting-edge 3D hologram. There is also the “EGAT and Thai Red Cross Society” exhibition displaying the collaboration in taking care of the Thai society for a long period. Besides, EGAT builds a community alley to sell local products from nearby communities of EGAT dams and power plants and Khun Sai Chol coffee which is its in-house brand.
