BackEN EV is an EV charging station management platform developed by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) as a “back-end” system for charging station owners. It provides comprehensive management, from controlling and monitoring charger status and setting charging rates to tracking usage data and generating operational and revenue reports online. This makes charging station management more convenient, faster, and efficient, while supporting both small charging stations and networks of multiple stations through a single system.
Smart Functions for Easier Charging Station Management
BackEN EV is designed to support charging station management across all aspects of operations, helping reduce the workload of operators and improve efficiency through key functions, including:
- Realtime Monitoring Dashboard: Monitor charger status in real time through a dashboard displaying station information, including chargers that are available, in use, or experiencing technical issues. This enables operators to quickly identify and resolve problems before they affect customers.
- Remote Operation & Automation: Control the charging station from anywhere via the internet, including setting charging rates, scheduling charger operating hours, and managing various system data without having to be physically present at the station.
- Data Analytics: Collect and analyze station usage data, including the number of charging sessions, electricity sold, sales, and revenue. This helps operators understand user behavior, evaluate operational performance, and make informed decisions about future investments.
The system is also part of the Intelligent EV Ecosystem, connecting chargers, the management system, and applications to facilitate seamless station operations, reduce the workload of station operators, and support efficient service without requiring staff to be stationed on-site at all times.
Connect to the EleXA Network and Expand Business Opportunities
BackEN EV also supports connecting charging stations to the EleXA Network, EGAT’s EV charging station network. This allows service data from the back-end system to be connected with the EleXA application in real time, enabling EV users to search for, select, and access charging services themselves through a self-service experience. At the same time, station owners can manage their services through BackEN EV using up-to-date information. This expands access to EV users on the EleXA platform, helping station owners reach more customers, expand their user base, and support long-term business growth.
BackEN EV’s Role in Supporting the EV Ecosystem
For more than five years, EGAT has continuously developed BackEN EV to support the growth of Thailand’s EV industry. As of the end of July 2026, the platform supports 242 private-sector operators and connects more than 556 charging stations on the EleXA Network, covering 70 provinces nationwide.
BackEN EV supports the country’s EV infrastructure, an important factor in enabling wider EV adoption. The growing number of EVs has contributed to a cumulative reduction of more than 46.5 kilotons of carbon dioxide (ktCO2) in emissions, reflecting EGAT’s role in supporting Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon society and sustainable clean energy use.
