CSR Policies

EGAT’s Policy on Sustainable Development is consistent with the 5th strategy of the  National Strategy which is “eco-friendly development and growth” and Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UNSDGs) which include Goals No. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 detailed as follows:

  1. Promote access to energy which is reliable and of reasonable price by increasing efficiency and stability of electricity generation from renewable energy and new forms of energy for low carbon society, as well as develop transmission system to support renewable energy and new forms of energy efficiently
  2. Minimize the impact of climate change, manage air quality and pollution by improving the process of electricity generation, formulate supporting measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and implement sustainable reforestation
  3. Promote opportunities and efficiency of EGAT’s operations by using innovation and digital technology which help increase the efficiency of power generation and provide business opportunities
  4. Support the organization to be flexible for risk management and threat prevention in order to keep business continuity and prepare for emergencies or crises
  5. Promote energy and environmental conservation, support sustainable production and consumption by means of the management of hazardous waste arising from the electricity generation process, develop circular economy, promote demand side management, and support smart city development
  6. Strengthen good relations with stakeholders and encourage them to have trust in EGAT and support EGAT’s operations by stakeholder management, develop plans to meet the demands and expectations of stakeholders, and handle the concerns of stakeholders appropriately
  7. Promote continued and sustainable economic growth by supporting local employment, develop communities around EGAT’s dams and power plants to become tourist attractions and learning centers, and promote occupational health and safety management in the workplace
  8. Conserve and restore the ecosystem, provide efficient water management to reduce impact on the community, prevent soil degradation, and promote sustainable agriculture by organic farming based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy to create biodiversity and food security
