Mae Klong Dam

Background

Mae Klong Dam or formerly known as “Vajiralongkorn Dam” is situated on Mae Klong River,Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province. It is a diversion dam which can store and supply water for irrigated areas and for consumption in Kanchanaburi Province and other nearby provinces. It is one of an important dam of Mae Klong River Basin Development Project. In 2001, His Majesty King Bhumibol has graciously changed the name of Vajiralongkorn Dam to be Mae Klong Dam.
