Ministry of Labour and EGAT drive safety culture across supply chain
27 February 2025Ministry of Labour joins hands with EGAT to promote safety culture in the workplaces of their supply chain through the project “Friends for Friends, Driving a Sustainable Safety Culture” under the “Pass on Safety…Pass on Care” campaign.

On February 25, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic collaboration to promote occupational safety and health under the project “Friends for Friends, Driving a Sustainable Safety Culture.” On this occasion, Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, Governor of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and Mr. Nanchai Panyasurarit, Director of Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Public Organization) (T-OSH), entered into the MOU at the Auditorium, EGAT 50th Anniversary Building, EGAT Headquarters, Nonthaburi Province.

Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, said that fostering a safety culture in an organization not only lessens accidents but also enhances shared responsibility. The Ministry of Labour is ready to drive the development of model safety organizations through collaboration with public and private partners to promote sustainable safety management. EGAT will take the lead in sharing knowledge and safety standards to medium and small workplaces across the network supply chain. Cooperation between the public and private sectors is essential to create tangible results and a safe and sustainable work environment for the benefit of Thai and foreign workers nationwide.



Mr. Nanchai Panyasurarit, T-OSH Director, emphasized driving a sustainable safety culture to ensure safe operations of businesses and reduce accidents effectively. The project focuses on conducting training and developing safety standards by setting organizational policies and coaching. It aims to reduce the accident frequency rate in workplaces by over 2% per year. Awards are also offered to organizations with outstanding performance to stimulate continuous improvement, achieve zero-accident goal, and enhance the safety culture to cover Thai and foreign workers nationwide.
Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, EGAT Governor, said that EGAT has a policy to improve safety standards as an organizational culture. EGAT adheres to the principle of “Safety First – Safety Not Compromise,” integrates ISO 45001 with EGAT QSHE, and promotes safety in partner organizations to establish safety standards comprehensively. EGAT also ensures zero accidents by creating safety in operations covering partners across its supply chain.
